私の罪

『散歩の途中に、壁に手をかけて、下を向いて立っている老人に会った。苦しそうな様子だった。人通りは多かった。私は声をかけたかった、しかし、人の目を気にかけた。そのまま通り過ぎた。散歩の帰路で同じ道を通った。またその老人にあった。数メートル進んだところで、立ったまま下を向いて止まっていた。苦しそうだった。私はまた見過ごしてしまった。私は帰宅して涙を流した。私は涙を流し、悲しみ、その人を思うが、決して手を差し伸べない、決して助けない。私は惨めで哀れな憎みべき偽善者なのです』

私は他人に隣人を問います。

あなたの隣人とは？

弱ったい人に手を差し伸べ

傷ついた人を癒す人です。

と言います。

しかし、一番隣人ではないのが私なのです。

私は本当に恐ろしいゲヘナに投げ込まれます。

神よ！私の偽善をお許しください。私の弱さを憐れんでください。
